World's total CPU power: one human brain

http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2011/02/adding-up-the-worlds-storage-and-...

Take every computer in the world in 2007 and add their processing
power together. According to new research, they would only equal "the
maximum number of nerve impulses executed by one human brain per
second." And wait till you find out how big your DNA "hard drive" is.

Some food for thought for lazy password thinker-uppers, from Book Of Joe… namely the time it takes for a hacker’s computer to randomly guess your password…

Virgin Media Business UK Shuns Concern over IPv4 Internet Apocalypse

MSE: Mobile operators forced to offer 12-month contracts

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/phones/2011/01/mobile-operators-forced-...

This is truly excellent news, most especially for those who may have
found themselves suckered into 24-month contracts with appalling,
over-congested and under-maintained networks such as Orange. With only
12 months to suffer or the buyout not as severe if you absolutely must
end your contract early, this might force the networks to do something
about their service instead of just stealing your money every month
and simply banging on about 'the contract'
